Just in time for World Stroke Day, the stroke support group from Cologne received a G-WEG from us. Mr. Kastenholz accepted his prize at the offices of the German Stroke Foundation in Gütersloh.
We were more than happy to donate a G-WEG for a raffle among the 400 self-help groups in Germany, and we are delighted that the members of the self-help group in Cologne are now training according to our fall prevention program.
On the grounds of the German Stroke Foundation, we received a brief introduction to our concept. The foundation’s chairman, Dr. Michael Brinkmeier, and his deputy, Sylvia Strothotte, also took the opportunity to test the G-WEG.
Our customized fall prevention training program for stroke survivors exercises both the body and the mind. For those affected, the benefits of our G-WEG methodology are clear:
– Dual-task training on the G-WEG simultaneously challenges motor and cognitive skills.
– Stroke survivors perform simple perceptual, memory, and daily-life tasks while walking.
– Attention skills are trained, and the degree of automatization of walking is promoted.
Combining walking with another task increases walking speed and is far more effective than simple walking exercises.
You’ll improve your balance while walking by extending the stance phase and improving knee control. This is excellent preparation for better balance when standing and walking.
You'll overcome your fear of falling and regain your independence and zest for life.
With our 98 exercise cards, you can train regularly, progressively, and consistently.
We wish the stroke support group every success with our G-WEG program! Check out our YouTube channel for more information on G-WEG training:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLsxEsvSUyuXqOgYvrBunzQ
